Leslie C. Cohan, M.D. joined MCH February 2021. With over 30 years of clinical practice, Dr. Cohan is a board certified OB-GYN who is now limiting her practice to clinic based gynecology only. Dr. Cohan provides comprehensive care of women from menarche to menopause and beyond. In addition to routine preventive care, she specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of women’s health care issues including contraception and hormone replacement therapy and alternatives to hormone therapy.
She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and her medical degree and residency at Baylor College of Medicine, before beginning practice at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas. She is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has been on the clinical faculty of both Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas Health Science. Dr. Cohan also mentored Physician Assistant students from North Texas. She is a member of the North American Menopause Society, as well as other medical societies. Dr. Cohan has been recognized with various websites’ awards including Healthgrades and Vitals.
Dr. Cohan is a native Houstonian and comes from a family of physicians. She and her husband, Dr. Richard Caplan, have two children, Kailey and Koby, both of whom are doctors! They are patiently waiting for grandchildren.
